Marzipan is an almond flavored food that is used by chefs worldwide to create the fantastic sculptures they are well known for. Sculpting with marzipan was an easy and fun activity to do with the kids. The original idea was to sculpt sea animals using marzipan and then later be able to eat them. But nobody wanted to eat their creations! We used food coloring gel to dye the marzipan different colors. Then we used the same food coloring gel to decorate the sculptures using toothpicks to apply it. |
